Anti-Bullying Ambassadors

Our 2022/2023 Anti-Bullying Ambassadors and Year 6 Reps gave a wonderful Anti-Bullying Assembly with the theme of 'Reach Out'. The ambassadors and reps talked to the whole school about who we can reach out to and how we can work together to put an end to bullying. Take a look at the wonderful door displays created by each year group for Anti-Bullying Week 2022.

We are very proud to introduce you to our first Shakespeare School Anti-Bullying Ambassadors. The children completed their online training in July and have received a Diana Award badge which they wear with pride and so their peers can recognise them. Their role is to help educate their peers on bullying, lead on anti-bullying campaigns, promote a culture which celebrates and tolerates difference and help keep their peers safe both online and offline. We look forward to seeing how they develop their role and how they support the children in school.

On Friday 5th November our Anti-Bullying Ambassadors presented their first assembly to the school.

They introduced themselves and we all watched the Anti-Bullying Big Assembly together. The message of the assembly was to always speak out if you see bullying happening or you are being bullied yourself. We spoke about our Five People Support Network too and who we can talk to in and out of school if we are worried about something.

The whole school also said the Anti-Bullying pledge together - I'm putting my hand up and pledging to put an end to bullying!

Our Ambassadors did a fantastic job and we can't wait to see what they do next!

Monday 8th November. Some of our Ambassadors visited the cenotaph today, remembering those who we have lost whilst serving for our country as part of Fleetwood Town Football Club's community trust. Afterwards the Ambassadors were given the opportunity to speak to the veterans about their lives and experience in the forces and as they left, thanked the veterans for chatting to them and for everything that they have done. Lest We Forget.

Our Ambassadors have been making posters to put up around the school. They have also made a Wellbeing Wall.

Our Anti-Bullying Ambassadors organised and ran Shakey's Got Talent 2022. They did an amazing job and had so much fun along the way. The children had meetings to discuss what was needed for the event, who to invite and what they would say. They announced all of the acts, helped with props and music and put on a fantastic show. Here they are announcing and with all of the acts for SGT 2022.

17 of our Anti-Bullying Ambassadors helped Sandra Byrne from Wyre Borough Council to pick up any litter they came across. They walked along Broadway, up to the roundabout, crossed over and came back down. They couldn't believe the amount of litter they collected and felt very proud of themselves and think it's a very important message to keep our community litter free and to help the environment. They also met a few members of the public, including a Fleetwood Town Councillor, who thanked them for doing a wonderful job.

Our Ambassadors have worked incredibly hard to achieve their Wellbeing badge and they were awarded with this today, Friday 22nd April. The Diana Award also sent a lovely letter congratulating them.

We are really proud to be a part of Kindness Counts UK and have 6 wonderful children who represent Shakespeare as our Kindness Champions. We have been given a Kindness Counts Postbox and people can post any acts of kindness they see whether it be in school or out in the community. These are then given to Kindness Counts and there is a possibility to win a prize. Some of our children recently attended a Kindness Counts talent show. Our 1st, 2nd and 3rd placed acts from Shakey's Got Talent all took part. Well done Libby and Katie who came 2nd! A huge thank you to the children, parents and carers and staff who attended.

Our Anti-Bullying Ambassadors entered a competition run by Kindness Counts UK. They had to design a kindness themed mug and gave a 50p donation to the charity each too. Today we got the amazing news that one of our Ambassadors had won! A huge well done to Poppie for her wonderful design! Poppie has won a trophy, chocolate bouquet and a mug with her own design on it.
