Letter from Fleetwood Neighbourhood Policing Team

Dear Parents

Recently, there have been several very concerning reports of near misses involving children and vehicles, particularly during afternoon collection on Mersey Road.

Numerous parents have told us that they have been unable to see clearly when crossing the road due to vehicles parking on the zig zag lines. This is potentially an accident waiting to happen and we urge all parents to understand the dangers involved with parking or stopping on these markings – even for a moment.

We will also be looking at other obstructions such as parking on pavements, blocking junctions and residents’ driveways. Warning letters will be handed out to drivers who cause any unnecessary obstruction with repeat offenders at risk of a fixed penalty notice.

If you have any information, please feel free to contact Fleetwood Neighbourhood Policing Team. The information you provide will remain confidential.
