Year 4 have been outside and used bar models to help us understand mixed number fractions.
Year 3 have been learning how to count in 3s and 8s to help with their times tables.
Year 1 have been using natural objects to learn about place value. They have also created different number bonds to ten.
In year 2, we have been making 2D and 3D shapes out of sticks, straws, Blu Tack and play-doh.
Our magic numbers over the past couple of weeks have been 5 and 10! we have been exploring number bonds in a variety of ways. We love working with numicon!!
Year 4 have been using bar models to help answer division questions
Year 1 have enjoyed some outdoor maths activities. They have counted objects, ordered number pebbles, doubled numbers and made two digit numbers.
Year 3 have been learning how to use the column subtraction method.
In Year 1 we have been having fun, learning about how to measure and compare mass.
In year 2, we have been learning about lines of symmetry!
In year 6, we have been plotting bar charts, line graphs and scatter graphs. We have used compasses to draw circles (learning the diameter, radius and circumference) . We have learned the formula for the area of a circle. We have also found volumes of 3d shapes including cubes, cuboids, triangular prisms and cylinders.
In Year 4, we have been investigating improper fractions.
In the EYFS we have had so much fun learning about shapes and their properties and tangrams. We were inspired by a book called 'The Perfect Fit'. We talked about the shapes as we recreated the illustrations from the book. We had to rotate some of the shapes so that they fitted together to make things such as a diving board, a boat, a kite and a rocket. We also counted how many of each shape we needed. Maths is marvellous!!
Year 4 have been looking at different written methods of multiplication.
