This morning we have been number detectives. We’ve been working with a partner making numbers with different resources.

Welcome back to Maths year 2!! We have been working hard alread. We have been identifying numbers 1-100 and drawing/making the correct tens and units for these numbers.

In year 1 we acted out what we do in a day before ordering our school day pictures.

Year 2 have been measuring weight and capacity this week! We have been learning all about grams, kilograms, millilitres and litres!

In Year 1 we have been learning about time and using our bodies to show o'clock and half past times on a clock..

Year 2 have been creating their own chalk clocks and writing times on them!!

Year 2 are learning how to tell the time!

Year 4 have been finding out the change from £5,£10,£20 etc when working with money. We used number lines or mental strategies.

Year 1 are learning to find one half and one quarter of different shapes and numbers.

Year 1 are learning to multiply by 2.

Class R children have taken to subtraction like ducks (and frogs🐸) to water! 🦆😁

In Maths Year 2 have been learning all about position and direction! We've had so much fun with the bee bots xx

In year 3 we have been learning how to multiply 2- digit numbers by 1- digit.

In year 1, we have been learning to say our addition number bonds to 10 and 20.

In Year 4 we have learnt about decimal place value in an investigation using counters.

Intent, Implementation and Impact

Year 4 have been outside and used bar models to help us understand mixed number fractions.

Year 3 have been learning how to count in 3s and 8s to help with their times tables.

Year 1 have been using natural objects to learn about place value. They have also created different number bonds to ten.

In year 2, we have been making 2D and 3D shapes out of sticks, straws, Blu Tack and play-doh.

Our magic numbers over the past couple of weeks have been 5 and 10! we have been exploring number bonds in a variety of ways. We love working with numicon!!

Year 4 have been using bar models to help answer division questions

Year 1 have enjoyed some outdoor maths activities. They have counted objects, ordered number pebbles, doubled numbers and made two digit numbers.

Year 3 have been learning how to use the column subtraction method.

In Year 1 we have been having fun, learning about how to measure and compare mass.

In year 2, we have been learning about lines of symmetry!

In year 6, we have been plotting bar charts, line graphs and scatter graphs. We have used compasses to draw circles (learning the diameter, radius and circumference) . We have learned the formula for the area of a circle. We have also found volumes of 3d shapes including cubes, cuboids, triangular prisms and cylinders.

In Year 4, we have been investigating improper fractions.

In the EYFS we have had so much fun learning about shapes and their properties and tangrams. We were inspired by a book called 'The Perfect Fit'. We talked about the shapes as we recreated the illustrations from the book. We had to rotate some of the shapes so that they fitted together to make things such as a diving board, a boat, a kite and a rocket. We also counted how many of each shape we needed. Maths is marvellous!!

Year 4 have been looking at different written methods of multiplication.
