Massive congratulations go to The Elite Choir who have had an amazingly successful and unbelievably busy year which began back in November when they won The Fleetwood Festival.

Their next triumph was winning the regional heat for The Last Choir Singing, performing at the Marine Hall in March. Following this, they progressed to win the whole competition after their breath-taking performance in Blackburn where they competed against 11 other regional winners to become the County Champions. Such a great achievement. The judges’ comments were fantastic and this is just a sample of the quotes: “This was the best interpretation of the first song and the best arrangement”, “What an incredible foot-stomping performance” and “The concentration from every single chorister was superb”.

After winning the regional heat in the Music For Youth competition in Rochdale, the choir went on to show-case their amazing talent at the Symphony Hall in Birmingham. This occasion was a celebration of the finest choirs in the country. No surprise that Shakespeare Primary School Elite Choir were on the list.

One of the most exciting experiences was when the choir were asked to perform at The Blue Plaque presentation for Alfie Boe at the Marine Hall. Both Alfie Boe and Michael Ball were stunned by their professionalism and ability and expressed this during a radio interview.

The support received from families and friends has been wonderful and we are all so very proud of every single person involved.

Mrs Joanna Newson, Miss Claire Savage and Miss Leanne Farrer – we salute you.
